Joël Dicker nació en Suiza en 1985. En 2010 obtuvo el Premio de los Escritores Ginebrinos con su primera novela, Los últimos días de nuestros padres (Alfaguara, 2014). La verdad sobre el caso Harry Quebert (Alfaguara, 2013) fue galardonada con el Premio Goncourt des Lycéens, el Gran Premio de Novela de la Academia sa, el Premio Lire a la mejor novela en lengua sa y, en España, fue elegida Mejor Libro del Año por los lectores de El País y mereció el Premio Qué Leer al mejor libro traducido y el XX Premio San Clemente, otorgado por los alumnos de bachillerato de varios institutos de Galicia.
